Nakouzi is named senior anchor at MurrTV's Take a Stand program, highlighting the need for reform after the loss of civic values resulting from the Syrian occupation of Lebanon

MurrTV is forced to suspend all broadcasts by Syrian officials

Nakouzi joins Dubai-based Al-Arabiya TV for a three-year run as anchor for the From Iraq program
2007
Nakouzi becomes the first Arab news anchor to interview U.S. President George W. Bush. This unprecedented, hour-long conversation helped viewers to understand U.S. perspective on the state of affairs in the Middle East, and the President's hope for the future of the region

Nakouzi hosts Besaraha ("Frankly Speaking"), securing interviews with many of the world’s most influential leaders and heads of state

Elie and his family immigrate to the United States, where he continues his career as a journalist and broadcaster
